Police arrest cultists in Lagos (PICTURES)

Lagos police command  has made progress in its resolve to rid the ikorodu area of criminal elements. In a statement by the command spokesman they say they have arrested nine cultists terrorizing the area.

DSP Bala Elkana said Operation Crush arrested the suspected Cultists Leaders in the Imota area of Ikorodu. According to him, having received information from a reliable source on the 6th September,  that  some cultists on Police wanted list were sighted in Igbalu community, Operatives of Operation Crush attached to the Division were promptly deployed to the area. and two suspects namely, Emmanuel Chinonso and Thomas Israel were arrested.

On interrogation, they suspects confessed that they were key leaders of Eiye Confraternity and that their gang is responsible for series of violent attacks recorded in Imota, Ikorodu.

In a follow up investigation, seven additional suspects were arrested between 6th and 8th September, 2019.

Items recovered from them include,  two battle axe,  knife and one beret  belonging to  Eiye confraternity.

He said at the end of Investigation, the suspects will be charged to Court.
