PDP, APC Differ On Sack Of Plateau Federal Lawmakers
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Mixed reactions have continued to trail the sack of PDP federal lawmakers by judgments handed down from the court of appeal.

The latest protest is coming from the leadership of the Peoples democratic party in Plateau state and their supporters.

This banner displaying the faces of some prominent citizens of Plateau State calling them “the enemies of Plateau State,” has started trouble between the PDP and APC in Plateau state.

An indication that all is not well in the political scene of the North Central state.

Trouble started when a recent court of appeal judgment affirmed the verdict of the election petition tribunal insisting that the PDP candidates in the state were not eligible to contest the elections and directed that their certificates of return be withdrawn and given to the first runner up.

This decision of the court has triggered serious protests on the streets, with growing calls on the judiciary to review its decision.

The protests have taken a new turn with the display of this banner that subtly points fingers, with allegations that these court judgments have political undertone.

There is now a line drawn between the APC and PDP as they come out with different accusations and counter claims.

The PDP have vowed to even sustain the momentum of protests and peaceful demonstrations until the judgments are reviewed.

But the APC says it already has its sights set on the 2027 general election where they intend to win more for their party.

The security operatives have also cautioned the protesters against the breakdown of law and order and vowed to maintain peace and protect lives and property.
