Suspected gunmen have abducted two persons and shot another in Eleyewo, within the Ilu-Abo area of Akure, Ondo State, throwing the community into panic.
The attackers reportedly struck under the cover of darkness, firing sporadically and forcing residents to flee for safety.
The two victims were whisked away to an unknown destination, while a third person sustained gunshot injuries during the assault.
Information about the incident was shared on Saturday by a popular Akure-based blogger, Oluwaseun Ogunmola, popularly known as OB Sugar.

As of press time, the identities of the victims had not been officially confirmed, while efforts were ongoing to obtain a formal response from security authorities, including the Ondo State Police Command.
Residents have called on security agencies to intensify patrols and strengthen surveillance across Ilu-Abo and surrounding areas, citing growing insecurity in parts of the state capital.
The latest incident comes barely days after suspected bandits killed the Alagamo of Agamo, Oba Kehinde Jacob Falodun, in Akure North Local Government Area during a failed abduction attempt.
The back-to-back attacks have heightened anxiety among residents, many of whom are urging urgent government intervention to prevent further escalation of violence in the area.
Efforts to reach the police for confirmation and further updates were still ongoing at the time of filing this report.
