Officials of the Petroleum Department Resources in Ogun State and officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have accused some motorists of supporting the extortion and illegal sale a litre of Premium Motor Spirit above the official pump price of 145 Naira.
They made this known at the border town of Owode Idiroko where they have gone to monitor the compliance of sale of the commodity at the approved price and to ensure that petrol filling station with PMS sell to motorists instead of hoarding it.
While speaking about his experience during the exercise the Head of Operations, DPR office in the state, Kasali Akinade said he observed that motorists are even hiding information from them and allow the petrol filling station owners reap them off.
He advised them to speak up at the right time instead of dying in silence, noting that the agency is ready to work with security agents in ensuring that all petroleum filling stations with the commodity sell at the official rate or risk being sanctioned.
