There may trouble ahead of election into the board of Nigerian Sports Federations as the Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, has raised concerns over the guidelines to the polls.
The Federal Sports Ministry along with a certain ‘stakeholders group’ released guidelines which bar incumbent presidents and Vice Presidents who have served two successive terms in any sport.
The guidelines also declare as ineligible members of international sports federations.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s minister of sports Solomon Dalung believes the use of new guidelines during elections into various sports federations in the country, is mainly to address the governance challenges in these bodies.
