Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, alias Chisco Bee, a notorious drug baron and businessman, following weeks of intelligence-led surveillance of his operations in Lagos.
Ibemesi, 42, managing director of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig Ltd, was apprehended at his Daisy Garden Hotel, Isolo, Lagos, in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025.
At his warehouse on Pius Ezeobi Street, Isolo, NDLEA recovered 1,762.8 kilograms of Loud, a strain of cannabis, packed in 42 jumbo bags and four cartons. Authorities also seized $11,600, £2,000, €2,200, and CAD 50 in cash.
The arrest followed a series of nationwide operations that disrupted large-scale drug distribution networks. In Osun State, operatives intercepted 11,135 kilograms of processed skunk in Orita-Apeje, Araromi-Okeodo Forest Reserve, Ife South LGA, seizing two trucks and arresting seven suspects including Lucky Abiodun, Julius Amos, Victor Ngbikili, Sunday Oduegwu, Ibrahim Akanni, Eze Godstime, and Fred Ifeanyichukwu.
Additional seizures were recorded across multiple states:
Edo State: 1,902.1kg recovered from bush paths and vehicles, with suspects including Felix Edah (494kg) and Lucky Abagha (552kg) arrested.
Ogun State: Four suspects – Micheal Okoh, Offor Agada, Raphael Nkemjika, and Nwabueze Franklin – nabbed with 68kg skunk and 3.15kg methamphetamine along Ijebu-Ode Expressway.
Taraba State: Danjuma Tukura (172kg) and Wisdom Titus (84kg) arrested.

Nasarawa State: 785kg of skunk seized from a warehouse of a fugitive dealer in Asob Maraba, Karu.
Lagos State: Jamiu Kunle Kardoso and Oriyomi Waliu arrested with 65.15kg of Canadian Loud, while Taofeek Moraina was caught with 141kg of Ghana Loud.

Kwara State: 78.565kg of skunk seized from a truck on Ilorin-Jebba expressway; another 20 blocks recovered from a commercial bus in Eiyenkonrin, with drivers Umar Yakubu and Ibrahim Bello detained.
NDLEA also continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitisation campaigns, reaching schools and communities across the country, including in Zamfara, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Enugu, Lagos, and Ogun states.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), Chairman/CEO of NDLEA, commended the officers involved in the operations and encouraged sustained vigilance and a balanced approach in the agency’s nationwide drug control efforts.
The combined operations, spanning Lagos, Osun, Edo, Ogun, Taraba, Adamawa, Nasarawa, and Kwara, have resulted in the seizure of over 14,440 kilograms of skunk and significant cash and drugs, marking one of the largest coordinated drug enforcement successes in recent times.
