Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the quality and slow pace of work at the Hadejia Specialist Hospital, describing the project as unacceptable after more than ten years of construction.
The Governor raised concerns during an unscheduled inspection visit to the hospital in Hadejia, where he observed visible cracks on the walls and what he described as the use of substandard materials.
Governor Namadi said the level of work carried out so far does not justify the amount of time and public funds committed to the project.
He immediately directed contractors handling the project to improve the quality of work or risk losing the contract.
He warned that his administration will no longer tolerate substandard services, stressing that quality delivery remains a top priority for the Jigawa State Government.
According to the Governor, his administration is fully committed to effective service delivery across all sectors, in line with its 12-point development agenda aimed at building a better and more prosperous Jigawa State.
During the inspection, Governor Namadi visited key sections of the hospital, including the theatre, accident and emergency unit, and the maternity ward, where he again expressed disappointment with the standard of work.
The Governor also inspected other ongoing projects, including the well-fencing project at the Federal College of Education, Birnin Kudu Campus in Birniwa, as well as agricultural projects in Kirikasamma Local Government Area.

He noted that the projects are expected to strengthen healthcare delivery, boost agricultural productivity, and improve access to education across the state.
The inspection tour forms part of Governor Namadi’s continuous statewide monitoring exercise, aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and value for public funds.
The Jigawa State Government says it remains determined to ensure that all public projects meet acceptable standards and directly improve the lives of the people.
