The Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers want Government to reduce import duty on cooking gas equipment and accessories.

The President of the association, Nosa Ogieva-Okunbor made this known in an appeal while commending the government for the removal of Value Added Tax on locally produced cooking gas.

Mister Nosa said the association want the government to create an enabling environment for investors in the industry, to boost consumption of LPG in the country.

He said the awareness of cooking gas usage had increased consumption in Nigeria from 50,000 metric tonnes in 2007 to over 600,000 metric tonnes in 2018 with local investments in LPG bottling plants.
