The Nigerian Airforce has launched a helicopter attack on illegal oil refineries and barges in the Niger Delta, as part of the ongoing operations against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the region.
In a video accompanied by a statement released by the Air Force spokesman, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, the refineries and barges laden with petroleum products, were discovered by a Diamond 42 aircraft on a surveillance mission in Bille Community of Rivers State.
Shortly after, an Mi-24V helicopter gunship was called-in for attack and the operation was a success.
