The Federal high court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to the former minister of power, Saleh Mamman to the tune of 10 billion Naira and two sureties in like sum.
Justice James Omotosho’s ruling on a bail application by the defendant held that the sureties must own properties in Abuja with a minimum value rate of 750 million Naira.
The court also held that sureties must submit certified land documents to the court with a three-year tax levy.
The defendants must produce bank statements and international passports to the court.
In the alternative, the defendant can present a bank guarantee for the specified sum, in which case no surety is required.
The court adjourned until September 25, 2024 for the start of the trial.
The former minister is being prosecuted by the EFCC on accusations of alleged money laundering worth 33 billion naira.
