The 2025 Lagos State Local Government Elections have commenced in a generally peaceful and orderly manner across various local government areas (LGAs), with the timely distribution of election materials and deployment of security personnel.
In Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, distribution of election materials began early this morning, with adhoc staff mobilizing to the 14 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) that comprise both Amuwo-Odofin and Oriade. According to TVC News senior reporter, Theophilus Elamah, the process has been smooth so far, with no reports of delays or missing materials.
A similar situation unfolded in Ikeja Local Government, where election materials were dispatched to major polling units from the local secretariat. TVC News correspondent, Olamide Adeyemi, reported that police officers had resumed election duty, leaving their barracks in a coordinated fashion to secure polling units and ensure voter safety. The Commissioner of Police, CP Jimoh, had earlier assured residents of adequate security throughout the voting process.
