Lagos govt. warns residents to stop street trading

The Lagos State Government has again warned traders and other stakeholders within Lagos Island Central Business Districts to desist completely from street trading.

Special Adviser to Governor Ambode on Central Business District, Agboola Dabiri reminded Lagos residents involved in any form of business within Lagos Island to be mindful of the law promulgated last year.

He said both sellers and buyers caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Dabiri added that disciplinary measures put in place in the implementation of the law, include the usage of mobile courts, seizure and confiscation of goods, payment of fines and jail terms, depending on the degree of the offence.
