The Kwara State Government on Thursday honoured late former Super Eagles striker, Rashidi Yekini.
Yekini was honoured for his outstanding contribution to sports development.
He was among the awardees during the awards and dinner night as part of the Golden Jubilee anniversary of the state tagged, ‘Celebrating Harmony, Shaping the Future.’
Yekini’s sister Similat received the award on behalf of the late sports icon.
Yekini, who was from Kwara State, scored Nigeria’s first ever goal at the World Cup in the United States in 1994.
