Image result for Kidnapping: Police increase surveillance, security in AbujaThe Police in Abuja have increased their visibility and intelligence gathering efforts, that’s according to the Commissioner, FCT Police Command. This coming in the wake of reports that one of six victims kidnapped over the weekend, regained freedom on Sunday night only after her father paid 15,000 Dollars in bitcoin.

Sifon Essien reports that the police dismissed the post alleging kidnap, but acknowledged that one out of the 6- a university lecturer kidnapped on the 8th of September- has been rescued, while investigations have begun in the case of one Miss Ummi Umar Ardo kidnapped on the 14th of September in Asokoro.

Reports say Miss Ardo was released on Sunday night after her father paid 15,000 Dollars in bitcoin, but TVC News could not independently verify the claim, as efforts to reach her father were unsuccessful.

The situation is giving residents some concern. Many fear that kidnappers may have infiltrated the nation’s capital.

The police embarked on a show of force to bolster confidence among residents while allaying fears that the capital city isn’t under siege by kidnappers.
