Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has disclosed plans to roll out a five billion naira empowerment program for women and youth in the State.
The governor said this at the Flag-off of another empowerment program in Katsina for seven thousand women from the North West zone by the national Assembly members spouses association.
Governor Dikko Radda who flagged off the exercise also disclosed plans by his administration to roll out more programs targeted at youth and women.
Women empowerment is considered as one of the priority projects of the federal and the State government to reduce the hardship being faced as a result of the ongoing economic reforms.
In their separate speeches the organizers of the empowerment program reaffirms their commitment towards assisting women.
Beneficiaries are expected to receive 30,000 each to start up petty trades.
