The Independent National Electoral Commission has dismissed allegations of malpractices in the continous Voter Registeration by the African Democratic Congress.
The Election Management body said the current figures being generated by the C0ntinous Voter registration exercise in Lagos State is consistent with past figures generated in the State.
INEC in the statement signed by its Head of Voter Educvation and Publicity Depatrtment, Taiwo Gbadegesin, said the figures reflect the demographic trends in Lagos State.
The State according to the Election management body, the current population is Youthful, large and tech savvy adding that Lagos State returned the highest number of registrants in the last Continous Voter registration exercise nationwide.
The number registrants returned so far according to INEC also includes those seeking transfer of Voter cards, replacement of lost voter cards and also damaged ones.
The total registrants in Lagos State according to INEC is therefore accurate with the data available and trends.
It described as misleading and inaccurate to be peddling the information that figures have been inflated or malpractices have taken place without any shred of proof.
It advised political actors and all stakeholders to avoid making inflammatory, contradictory or needless speculation without any shred of evidence.
It restated its copmmitment to continue to serve all Nigerians according to the law while adding that it will continue to fair andf transparent in all its processes.
