The 106th edition of the International Labour Conference is underway in Geneva, Switzerland with Nigeria’s Labour minister, the Nigerian Labour Congress and other delegates are in attendance calling for good governance that will guarantee safe migration.

Correspondent Sharon Ijasan reports from Geneva that Nigeria’s labour minister, Chris Ngige has called on the International Labour Organisation, ILO and other international organisations to assist in attracting the required resources to finance recurring deficit national budgets on the African continent.

This, he reasoned, will ensure the attainment of Africa’s sustainable development agenda.

Ngige made the demand while responding to the report of the chairperson and director General of the international Labour Organisation.

In his own remarks,  President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba lamented the appalling standard of living in Nigeria, while emphasizing that Labour center has called  for an urgent upward wage review

The international Labour Organization says with the 2030 agenda for sustainable development there is a chance to make a change and improve the lives of billions.
