The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has reportedly arrested former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Bashir Jamoh, in Kaduna State.

A family representative says Jamoh was intercepted by ICPC operatives while returning from a court engagement to his residence .

It was gathered that Mr Jamoh was reportedly taken to his home for a search before being moved from Kaduna to Abuja.

The family alleges that since the arrest, Jamoh has been held incommunicado, without access to his family or legal counsel.

They have raised concerns over his safety and described the detention as a violation of his fundamental rights.

Meanwhile, the ICPC is yet to issue an official statement on the arrest or disclose the specific allegations against him.
