President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria has advised government at all levels to create internal controls to prevent fraud, waste and abuse in the system.
The ICAN president who was reacting to the latest figures from the national bureau of statistics says it has become imperative for government to pursue programmes aimed at diversifying the economy and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

He urged Nigerians to refrain from spending huge resources annually on foreign trips and reduce dependence of foreign products.
He believes this will help reduce the pressure on the naira.
