The Ondo State Elders Assembly has urged the State Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and members of the State House of Assembly to adhere to terms of the peace brokered by President Bola Tinubu.

Similarly, chairmen and leaders of political parties’ forum frowned at the way some hired agents are working to destabilise the current peace being enjoyed in the state.

Peace is gradually returning to the political scene in Ondo State, after the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.

For months, the state was enmeshed in crisis, triggered by alleged breach of trust and power play between the camps of the Governor and his Deputy.

A group of elders, under the auspices of Ondo State Elders Assembly met in Akure over the development.

The group urged parties in the matter to adhere to terms of the peace brokered by President Tinubu.

Addressing newsmen at the end of their meeting, the elders warned agents of darkness not to drag the state backward, urging the parties to accept the peace accord.

The Chairman of the group, Paul Akinwonmi, said no amount of propaganda can derail the collective progress of the state.

At another press briefing in Akure, chairmen and leaders of political parties in the state passed a vote of confidence on Governor Akeredolu.

The two groups appealed to the Executive and Legislative Arms of government to continue to uphold this newfound peace in the State.
