The General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Nigerian Army Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim has categorically declared the news report making the round on pages of newspapers and social media that some abducted Chibok schoolgirls have escaped from the Boko Haram terrorists and will be handed over to their parents as fake news.
The GOC 7 disclosed this to journalists who made enquirers about the incident and he replied through his WhatsApp line.
He said “As GOC of 7 Division, I have no information of any escaped Chibok girls and I should know if any..”
He therefore cautioned media outlets to always verify stories before publishing it to the public.
