A renowned Academic Professor Emeritus Umaru Shehu who is a distinguished Nigerian scholar in medicine has died in maiduguri, the Borno state capital at the age of 93.
Until his death, Professor Umaru Shehu held several positions to include Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor at ABU Zaria, and held the esteemed role of Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at both Bayaro University Kano and University of Lagos.

He also served as the Sole Administrator of University of MAIDUGURI among many other significant contributions to the academic community.
