Privileged Nigerians have been advised to support the government in providing standard education and learning environment for children in rural communities across the country.
A renowned musician and evangelist, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi and other Stakeholders in Idogo Community made this known during the inauguration of a block of four classrooms, borehole and reading materials donated by a non governmental Organization, Relum foundation.
The veteran musician commended the promoters of the foundation for their efforts in given back to their society having spent many years abroad.
He added that the school project will not only assist the children and parents in Idogo Community, it will also assist the government in providing quality education to the children in the rural area.
The Commissioner for Education in the state who was represented by the zonal education officer of the area said the state Government encourages private sector support, having realized that Government alone cannot provide all that is required to give children across the state standard and quality Education in a conducive atmosphere. She commended the initiative.
The promoters of the foundation say their desire is to see the light of Education shining in the country and they have decided to continue to re illuminate the country through education support and empowerments for the less privileged.
The traditional ruler of the community, Oba Saheed Olubiyi on his part expressed his happiness and commended the foundation for considering his Community for such project. He appealed to other privileged Nigerians to emulate the good gesture in order to empower the future generation.
