Nigeria wants investors and the international community to know that the country is ready for investments.
The Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, said this on Friday night in Washington D.C where he held an informal meeting with potential investors and enticed them with the Nigerian success stories, especially in the area of agriculture
Mr. Emefiele disclosed that the Anchor Borrowers Programme, which targets local farmers was one of the major achievements of the bank.
He added that the bank under its development interventions had given the sum of N178.48 billion through participating financial institutions to farmers.
And over 2.8 million and 8.4 million direct and indirect jobs have been created under the Anchor Borrowers Programme
Emefiele said the country’s foreign exchange policy was to ensure price stability.
The CBN had undertaken foreign exchange reforms which include the ban of the 41 items, establishment of the investor’s and exporter’s window and the SME Window of the foreign exchange market.
