The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ajibola Basiru says the All Progressives Congress, APC, may adopt a consensus arrangement in selecting its candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
National Secretary of the Party, senator Ajibola Basiru stated this at the inauguration of local Governments and ward coordinators of a Alubarika movement, a group set up to galvanize support for the Party ahead of the 2026 Governorship election in the State.
With members drawn from all the thirty Local Governments that make up the State, Ajibola Basiru said the movement aims to rally support for the APC and position it to reclaim power from the ruling PDP, which it accuses of underperformance.
Ajibola Basiru dismissed speculations that the APC is behind the internal crisis within opposition parties but ambitions of some of the members of the parties.
He reassured party members that the APC would provide a level playing field for all aspirants vying for the governorship ticket.
While soliciting support for the President, Bola Tinubu and leaders of the party at all levels, the APC National Secretary said the Government is on the right track to bring about needed development in the Country.
He also accused the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke of underperformance.
