Image result for Energy Commission of NigeriaBusiness activities at the Energy Commission of Nigeria in Abuja were on Tuesday grounded following the commencement of a three-day warning strike by aggrieved workers under the auspices of the Association of Senior Civil Servants.

The workers staged a protest, blocking the entrance of the organization to drive home their demands.

They are kicking against unfair labour practices, absence of proper conditions of service and failure of the Commission’s management to honor previous agreements reached with workers on creating an enabling work environment.

Leader of the striking workers, Promise Uzonduchukwu, told TVC News that they are demanding the removal of the Commission’s Director General, an investigation into the financial transactions of the organisation as well as restructuring the agency to live up to its statutory mandate.
