Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has fixed September 28, 2024 to conduct local government elections in the State.

Making this known in statement, the Chief Electoral Officer of ANSIEC, Genevieve Osakwe informed registered political parties and the general public about the new date.

Osakwe invites members of the registered political parties in the state to visit the commission’s headquarters on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, for more details.

It would be recalled that Anambra had its last local government council elections in 2013 during the end of former Governor Peter Obi’s tenure.
It is expected that this September local election would open up vista of opportunities for grassroots’ politicians and drive development to communities faster.
