One of the Libya Returnee, Victor Imasuen, described her experience in Libya as living in hell, stating that he will not travel by land again.
He made this known on TVC Breakfast show on Friday. ”I will not try my luck again by Land, Life in Libya was hell for me and my friends. some of them died sef. Infact na who know man na’im dey kill man. It was Nigerians and Ghanians that were beating us.”

”They just kept us in a dark room from morning to night. Then they will ask us to call our parents then when we call they will start beating us so when our parents or people hear us crying they will send in the money they are requesting for.”

He continued by saying, “I left Nigeria in September 2017 by land but at Sabratha, we were waylaid and tortured but. The Arabs are wicked and are in collaborations with some Nigerians  and Ghanaians to torture many of us. My escape was by God’s grace because many of us died on the way.”

Victory concluded his interview segment with Mike Okwoche and Azeezat Olaoluwa, by appreciating some people. ”I want to thank  pastor TB Joshua, he contributed to our return and also paid for somethings for us, and I want to thank the Government for what they have done so far but they need to do more to bring others back home.”

The 387 returnees were received by National Emergncy Management Agency NEMA and other relevant agencies like National Agency For Prohibition Of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP), Federal Airports Authorities of Nigeria FAAN and Nigeria Police Force.

Also the Osun State government has joined Edo and Delta States to take-up the responsibility of catering for its indigenes who are among the returnees. NEMA Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Suleiman Yakubu, who represented Director General Mustapha Maihajja, enjoined other states government to take the bull by horn in coming up with rehabilitation and reintegration incentives for the returnees in addition to what is being provided at national and international levels.
