Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has officially confirmed his return to the All Progressives Congress.
The minister was warmly received by the party’s leadership at the Oyo State APC secretariat at Oke Ado, greeted with cheers from his supporters in the state.
Mr. Adelabu, along with other aggrieved members of the party, had defected from the All Progressives Congress party o the Accord in 2022, citing allegations that a faction of the party had hijacked the party’s structure during their primary election.
After leaving the APC, the former CBN Deputy Governor contested for the position of Oyo State Governor under the Accord platform, a bid that ended in defeat.
In his address, the minister emphasized that his return to the party was not driven by the motive to contest in 2027 but to reunite the party and secure the future of the APC in the state.
He urged the party’s leadership to utilize the platform in supporting President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda for the country’s development.
