Tunisia is asking the International Monetary Fund for another loan …the 2nd request in two years.
Tunisian prime minister’s economic adviser, Rida Saidi said they hope the upcoming visit of the IMF will be positive, as the loan is expected to be disbursed soon.
Last year, Tunisia secured a 2.88 billion dollar loan in May, when 319 million dollars were disbursed by the organisation.
The IMF is hoping to help Tunisia in its economic reform, 6 years after an uprising that ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, which has made the country’s economic growth remain below the long-term average.
