President Bola Tinubu has felicitated lawyer and politician, Chief Olusola Oke, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

In a statement issued on Monday, the President joined family members, friends, professional colleagues and political associates in celebrating Oke’s contributions to Ondo State and the country as he attained what he described as a milestone age.

Tinubu noted that Oke has distinguished himself in both legal practice and politics, successfully combining the two fields over the years.

The President recalled that Oke was elected into the House of Representatives in 1992 to represent Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency and later served on the pioneer board of the Niger Delta Development Commission in 2000.

He also acknowledged Oke’s role in national politics, noting that although he previously served as National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party between 2008 and 2012, he has remained a valuable figure since joining the All Progressives Congress.

Tinubu further highlighted Oke’s involvement in the 2023 presidential campaign, where he served as Deputy Director of Legal Affairs in the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation.

Commending his impact, the President said, “Oke’s professional practice as a lawyer of high reputation provided the platform that gifted him the opportunity to blossom in politics and to join others in efforts to impact his people positively.”

The President also noted that despite unsuccessful attempts to become governor of Ondo State, Oke has continued to serve in various capacities, including as Executive Chairman of the Oil Producing Area Development Commission in 2004.

Tinubu prayed for more years, good health and wisdom for the elder statesman as he marks his 70th birthday.
