President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the Federal Civil Service.

The announcement was made on Monday in Abuja by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, in a statement released through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Eno Olotu.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Ibrahim Ozi (Federal Capital Territory), Ezemama Chidiebere (Imo State), Garba Usman (North Central), Mohammed Ishiyaku (North East), and Ukaire Chigbowu (South East).

Walson-Jack explained that the appointments followed a rigorous, merit-based selection process aligned with President Tinubu’s vision of promoting professionalism, transparency, and excellence within the Civil Service.

She charged the new appointees to demonstrate integrity, dedication, and competence in discharging their duties, stressing that their leadership is vital to strengthening governance and improving service delivery across ministries and agencies.

“The new Permanent Secretaries are expected to deploy their experience and expertise in driving the government’s reform agenda and ensuring the highest standards of performance in the public sector,” she said.

Walson-Jack commended President Tinubu for his continued support of meritocracy and professionalism in public administration, describing the appointments as a reflection of his commitment to building a results-oriented and people-focused bureaucracy.

She reaffirmed that the Federal Civil Service remains steadfast in advancing efficiency, accountability, and innovation in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
