The Super Eagles Players and officials have been cleared to leave the Al Abaq Airport in Libya over 24 hours after their arrival in the North African country.
The Eagles who were in Libya for the AFCON 2025 qualifier were held hostage by the Libyan authorities with players and officials not allowed to leave the airport and Internet services shut down.
The situation prompted the Nigerian Football Federation to withdraw the players from taking to the pitch for the match slated for Benghazi on Tuesday.
The Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, had earlier said the Federal Government is watching the situation closely.
Players who were part of the team have taken to Social Media platforms to express shock at the treatment by the Libyan authorities while some of those who were not present also joined in condemning the situation in Libya.
Injured striker, Victor Oshimen, also took to Social Media to back the decision of his international teammates to decline participation in the match.
