Senate to create Customs Service Commission to replace current board

The Nigerian Senate is set to create a Customs Service Commission to replace the current board of the agency.

The senators say this is to ensure that future Customs Comptroller-Generals resort to the commission when considering promotion, discipline and dismissal of officials.

Clause-by-clause consideration of the bill has been stepped down to continue in the next legislative date.
