Senate confirms 15 Resident Electoral Commissioners

Image result for Senate to consider National Road Fund Bill soonThe Senate has confirmed fifteen out of twenty seven nominees for the position of Resident Electoral commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The remaining twelve are still undergoing screening.

Senate President Bukola Saraki charged the new commissioners to help organize credible polls in Nigeria.

Recall that the Senate had few months  back stepped down consideration of the nominees in protest against the Presidency’s insistence on Ibrahim Magu as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes   Upper legislative chamber
