The House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs has warned the Ministry against taking over the rights and functions of agencies under its purview.

The meeting seeks to create a rapport for a win win situation for all concerned.

The Chairman of the Committee underscores the importance of the Ministry of foreign affairs as the nation’s image maker.

Mr. Oke expressed the commitment of his colleagues to support the Ministry, along with its missions in the drive to project Nigeria in a better light.

But it warned the Ministry against usurping the functions of the missions and agencies under its supervision

The Ministry says it will comply with suggestions made by the Committee and pledges its readiness to improve synergy with the legislators.

It however called for the prompt passage of the Foreign Service Commission Bill.

The committee and the ministry described the meeting as fruitful and pledged commitment to addressing challenges as they arise, especially those concerning Nigeria’s mission abroad.
