The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has instructed Muslim Ummah in Nigeria to look out for the new moon of Ramadan on Monday 12th of April 2021.
Monday 12th April 2021 is , equivalent to 29th day of Sha’aban 1442 AH (After the Hijira).

The Sultan stated this in a statement signed by the Wazirin Sokoto and Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Professor Wali Junaidu.
According to the statement, Muslim across the country are expected to look out for the moon and report to the nearest village or district head for onward communication to the Sultan of Sokoto.
