Former Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has urged Nigerians to discard the thought that the All Progressives Congress-led government came out to instill hardship on the people, adding that no responsible administration gets to power with the aim of making life miserable for the people.

As Nigerians lament the prevailing economic situation in the country, a former minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has appealed to them to have faith the the current administration, claiming that it has embarked on a mission to turn things around for the better.

He made this known at the Olabisi Obasanjo University, Ago Iwoye while delivering a paper titled “Redefining The Role of Spokesman: My Enduring Engagement/Romance With The Practice of Public Relations”.

He identified issues and challenges associated with holding public office and the issue of trust and fake news.

Speaking about his experience as the Spokesman of the opposition party which wrestled powers from Peoples Democratic Party in 2015, Lai Mohammed said he practically became a pest to the party and government of Goodluck Jonathan.

The Head of the Mass Communication Department of the Olabisi Obasanjo University, Lanre Akinola said the essence of the engagement was to provide a forum for town and gown to meet and chart a new cause for national development.

The programme was attended by politicians, top management staff of the university, researchers, students among others.
