President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian comedy legend Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Alibaba, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trailblazer who transformed Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
In a statement from the State House on Monday, President Tinubu celebrated Alibaba’s pioneering role in building Nigeria’s stand-up comedy industry into a thriving ecosystem that now contributes significantly to the country’s economy.
“Alibaba is not just a professional comic; he is a transformative figure in the entertainment sector,” the President said, acknowledging his early work at corporate events and appearances on television and radio.
The President also praised the Delta State-born entertainer for inspiring generations of comedians and setting the standard for excellence in the industry. He urged him to continue mentoring young talents to reach greater heights.
President Tinubu wished Alibaba good health and many more years of impact, both on and off the stage.
