Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned of a real possibility of violence in Europe, claiming that the continent has returned to a “pre-war era” for the first time since World War II ended.
Tusk also warned that Ukraine’s loss risked the wider safety of Europe.
Poland has been one of its neighbouring Ukraine’s staunchest allies since Russia invaded over two years ago.
The Prime Minister recently met with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal in Warsaw, where they discussed solutions on dealing with farmers’ demands over restrictions on Ukrainian imports.
According to Ukrainian local media, during the evening of March 28 and 29, Russian strikes resulted in an air-raid alert in the cities of Dnipro, Kamianske in the Dnipro Oblast, and Cherkasy Oblast.
On Friday, Belgorod, in the Ukraine, was the target of strikes; a drone struck a residential structure, killing one person.
In recent days, Russia has intensified its strikes on Ukraine, striking the nation’s energy infrastructure and firing multiple missile barrages on the capital, Kyiv.
The strikes appear to be revenge for recent airstrikes by Ukraine on the Belgorod area of Russia. On the other hand, these intermittent attacks have been typical of the war.
