The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed circulating social media videos in which an unidentified figure issues threats against communities and tertiary institutions in the State, describing the footage as artificially generated and lacking any link to known terrorist groups.

According to the Command, a forensic review conducted by its cybercrime and intelligence units confirmed that the clips were created using artificial intelligence by yet-to-be-identified individuals.

Investigators traced the earliest appearance of the footage to a foreign online source about three months ago before it resurfaced in altered forms across various platforms.

The Police emphasised that there is currently no credible intelligence suggesting any planned attack on Ogun State or its communities, schools or public institutions.

Residents were urged to remain calm, refrain from sharing unverified content and continue their lawful activities without fear.

The Command encouraged the public to report suspicious movements or individuals to the nearest police formation.

The Commissioner of Police has directed increased surveillance, enhanced patrols and strengthened inter-agency collaboration to maintain public safety.

The Command reaffirmed that Ogun State remains safe, stable and fully secured.
