Following the frequent rise of Child Abuse and violence against women which has generated a global attention and the ongoing case of Busola Dakolo.

Women numbering above a thousand led by Nkechi Ikpeazu,wife of Abia state governor and National Council of Women Society an NGO, marched through the streets of Umuahia the state capital, Abia state to create awareness and instigate social and behavioral change in the face of rising trends of abuse and violence against women and children and to demand that more concrete actions are taken by the authorities concerned, including the federal and state governments to curb gender based violence.
