The PDP Reconciliation committee headed by Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State has met with the Chairman, PDP Caretaker Committee, Ahmed Makarfi as part of efforts towards finding a lasting solution to the crisis rocking the party.
TVC News Dooshima Abu reports that members of the reconciliation committee hold talks with Ahmed Makarfi.
They come ready with a proposal they believe will engender a peaceful resolution of the crisis rocking the party.
They are advocating for a political solution and a unity convention.
The reconciliation had also met with Ali Modu Sheriff and the outcome of the visit generated a lot of controversy, dimming hopes for a political solution.
This party chieftain wants both factional leaders to resign their positions and allow for peace in the party.
Just recently the Makarfi faction met with fifteen political parties with plans of forming an alliance in a bid to build a vibrant opposition.
They have accused Sheriff of drowning the party because of his presidential ambition.
A claim Sheriff has not taken lightly
These women groups are concerned about recent happenings in the party. They call on both factions to Sheathe their swords.
The road to a lasting peace in the PDP is still rocky and at the moment, both factions are waiting for the supreme court Judgement.
