Osinbajo seeks National Assembly’s approval of $1.5B foreign loan request

Nigeria wants to borrow about 1.5 billion dollars to pay for infrastructural projects in ten states.
Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has already written to the National Assembly, seeking approval for the foreign loans.

The letters were read by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara at Tuesday’s plenary.

The loan requests for Ogun, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Kano, Abia, Katsina, Jigawa, Enugu, Plateau and Ondo states, are meant to fund water, health, agriculture and infrastructural projects.

The monies are to be sourced from the African Development Bank, French Development Agency, World Bank and Islamic Development Bank.
