The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Ogun Axis/Joint Campus Committee has threatened to shut down all tertiary institutions in the state in protest for the abduction of their colleagues.

This follows the abduction of two students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro Campus on Sunday night.

The body described the abduction of Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola, of the departments of Forestry and Wildlife Management and Agricultural Economics respectively as unfortunate and unacceptable.

They noted that the trend of attacks and abduction of students across the country is gradually threatening educational development in the country.

They called on the state Government and the Police to work together to ensure unconditional release of the abducted students within four days in order to prevent imminent total shutdown of all tertiary institutions in the state.

While we sympathise with the parents and families of the victims, the students body lament that more than thousands one hundred Nigerian students have fallen victims of the abductors in the last seven years.

They called on President Muhammadu Buhari and state Governors to arrange security for all students from primary to tertiary schools across Nigeria.
