Ondo State Government has commended the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship Primaries, describing it as novel in the history of the state.
The State Commissioner for Information, Donland Ojogo, who disclosed this at a news conference in Akure, said government will not tolerate any act of lawlessness from any political party.
The governorship primaries of the two dominant political parties in Ondo state are over and the countdown to the election day is ticking, but issues surrounding conduct of the primaries have continued to generate
The state government is happy with the conduct of the Governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC and comportment of party members during the exercise.
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said the APC primary election was conducted in line with the party’s guidelines.
He said the APC will interface with the governorship aspirants and bring all party members together.
He however condemned some violence demonstrated by supporters of the major opposition party in the state, just outside the venue of the primary election.
Ojogo said action of the supporters of some of the aspirants was not only condemnable, but an act of lawlessness.
