Ondo APC members pledge to support party’s Advisory Council

All Progressives Congress in Ondo state said it will support the advisory council led by Chief Pius Akinyelure to reconcile all aggrieved parties, as the state prepares for governorship election in October.

The leaders, including former chairman of the party and a Governorship aspirant, Isaacs Kekemeke said genuine reconciliation is needed at this time.

Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that the crisis rocking the Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress is a fallout of the party’s governorship primary election in 2015.

The dust raised by the primary election has refused to settle, pitching gladiators in the party against one another.

The crisis has eaten deep with different factions emerging every passing day and the wounds created by the division have refused to heal. But for a Governorship aspirant, Isaacs Kekemeke, the time has come for the party to address issues that have caused unnecessary division.

Kekemeke, who is a victim of the party’s endless crisis, threw his weight behind the setting up of an advisory council.

Some elders in the party have also stated their positions on the Bisi Akande-led Reconciliation Committee.
