The Babaloja of Oyo State, Asiwaju Yekeen Abass, has directed that all traders in the eleven local governments of Ibadan, the state capital, that all market activities within the main city and outer city will be shut ahead of the coronation day of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland scheduled for Saturday.

The market leader made this known in a congratulatory message to the 44TH Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja.

The statement was signed by Asiwaju YK Abass on behalf of the market leaders council, zonal executives and traders in the state and made available to newsmen.

Abass prayed for a peaceful and prosperous reign that would bring prosperity to Ibadanland and Oyo state as a whole.

According to the statement, Abass implored all traders in the eleventh local government of Ibadanland that all markets within Ibadan main city and outer city will be closed for trading activities on the coronation day of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, which is 26th September 2025.

He urged all traders to accept the decision as a means of giving respect to the revered monarch to be at the Mapo hall, which is the venue of the coronation.

Furthermore, Asiwaju Yekeen Abass also used the opportunity to wish the Royal Father happy Birthday and many happy returns ahead of the occasion of his 81st birthday celebration.

TVC previously reported that the Coronation Organising Committee for the installation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has announced traffic diversions ahead of the ceremony scheduled for Friday, on major roads leading to Mapo Hall in Oyo State.

This was disclosed in a traffic advisory issued and made available to TVC on Wednesday. The security sub-committee under the general committee, chaired by former CCII President, Chief Bayo Oyero, stressed that the diversions are in place due to the confirmation received from the presidency on the attendance of President Bola Tinubu.
