Nigerian athlete Blessing Okagbare has been listed for the long jump event at the IAAF Diamond League meeting on Thursday in Oslo, Norway.
This will be the Nigerian’s first ever trip to the Oslo event and she will hope to jump farther than the 6.52 metres she recorded early this month in Oregon, United states.
Okagbare will be up against three of the athletes who finished ahead of her in Oregon.
She ran a personal season’s best time of 11.16 seconds last Sunday to place second behind Dafne Schippers in the 100 metres, at the Fanny Blankers-Koen meeting in Hengelo, Holland.
Tobi Amusan scorched to a new 12.57 seconds best to win her first National Collegiate of Athletics Association (NCAA) Championships title in the 100m hurdles in Oregon.
The Nigerian exploded out of the blocks and held onto a narrow lead over defending champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.
