For the maritime industry to thrive, the maritime regulatory agency must function optimally.The director general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dakuku Peterside stated this when he toured the agency’s facilities in Lagos with his executive management team .
At the various locations visited, he engaged personnel on his mandate to restructure the agency for better performance.
He noted that operations will be automated in line with international best practice to ensure that the agency effectively carries out its regulatory and enforcement role.
